Unlicensed Stories Reel In Internet Readers

Here's another reason for ailing newspaper and magazine publishers to wince: On average, the audience perusing unauthorized online copies of their articles is nearly 2.5 times larger than the readership on their own Web sites, according to a study being released Thursday.

The most relevant question is "how much must be copied for these guys to say an article is copied?" If this is like that debacle where the AP bitched because bloggers were posting as little as 5 words, then yes, virtually every contextual link on the web is a copyright infringement.
