Waaay back in 2005, this European commercial was minted to help promote the launch of the Xbox 360. It was promptly banned for encouraging violent behaviour.
A Missouri State student came back to his dorm to find his Xbox 360 stolen. Realizing the controller still connected when turned it on, he set out to find the console. And he did.
The Xbox 360 has had its fair share of problems. Overheating, firmware bricking, seemingly random hardware failures and the list goes on. One of the known issues with certain versions of the 360 has inspired an enraged customer to sue Microsoft.
Questions are being asked in Orange Country, Florida after a Sheriff's Deputy apparently confiscated a man's Xbox 360 in lieu of a speeding fine.
Microsoft is cleaning house once again by banning from Xbox Live those users who have modified their 360 consoles to play pirated games. According to Major Nelson the banning has been carried out to "keep game play safe and secure" for the 14 million community members, noting that any modification to an Xbox 360 is also a violation of the Xbox Live terms of use.
More information has been discovered on Netflix and HDCP lockouts, and it isn't as bad as first determined. It seems that the problem lies within using video adapters for the 360 to plug in displays it won't normally use, and that some displays do not support HDCP over DVI.
The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday permanently disbarred crusading anti-porn lawyer Jack Thompson but left open a slim window for reconsideration. The Supreme Court's order summarized 10 acts of unprofessional behavior by Thompson over the past three years, including accusing lawyers who filed complaints against him of being "criminal pornographers who objectify women." Thompson said he would file a request for an emergency stay in Miami federal court.
