Apple IPhone Coming To Walmart Sunday At 1% Discount

As expected, Apple's iPhone will go on sale at Walmart (WMT) stores this coming Sunday, Dec. 28. Walmart will sell the 8 GB iPhone for $197, a 1% discount from its $199 retail price; and the 16 GB iPhone for $297, a 0.7% Discount from its $299 retail price. This is great news for Apple: It adds another 2, 500 distribution points for the iPhone, and makes sure that smartphone competitors like the Google G1 aren't the only ones Walmart shoppers are exposed to.

Warner Brothers Pulls All Videos From Youtube

Negotiations between Warner and YouTube over renewing the licensing agreement for music videos broke down Fri. Early Sat., Warner, the 3rd largest record label, removed videos from the Google-owned site. The impasse comes at a time when all 4 major labels, including Universal Music Group, Sony Music and EMI, are renegotiating their licensing.

YouTube Now 25 Percent Of All Google Searches

Video search on YouTube accounts for a quarter of all Google search queries in the U.S., according to the latest search engine numbers from comScore. Its monthly qSearch report, which was released on Thursday night, breaks out the number of searches conducted on YouTube. If it were a standalone site, YouTube would be the second largest search engine after Google. More searches are done through YouTube than through Yahoo, which has been the case for the past few months.
